The new app is built with Apple Catalyst technology, which means there will be some minor differences from the previous app:
- Calls no longer include Screen Sharing, Whiteboard and Miniview capabilities.
- Minimum macOS supported version is changing to
- Ability to select a language different from the operating system language was removed from settings. Messenger will match system language (if supported).
Note: This is only available for Mac computers.
Download Messenger from the Mac App Store#
Go to the App Store to download Messenger for Apple Mac.
After installing, make sure to turn on automatic updates in the App Store to always have the newest version of the Messenger app.
