Ove is an ill-tempered, stubborn and isolated old man with strict routines. He not only thinks that all of his neighbors are useless, but also unreservedly declares his feelings to the neighbors. Ove’s life changes abruptly when the new neighbors accidentally crash their car into Ove’s mailbox. The event also marks the beginning of an extraordinary friendship. Adapted from Fredrik Bachman’s novel with the same name, A Man Called Ove is a touching, warm film with a humorous narrative.

A Man Called Ove (Swedish: En man som heter Ove, pronounced[ɛnˈmanːsɔmˈhěːtɛrˈǔːvɛ]) is a Swedish comedy-drama film written and directed by Hannes Holm and based on the novel of the same name by Fredrik Backman. It stars Rolf Lassgård in the title role.[3]

The film was released theatrically in Sweden on 25 December It was nominated for six awards, winning two, at the 51st Guldbagge Awards in [4][5] At the 89th Academy Awards, it was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.[6][7][8][9]

Plot

Ove Lindahl, a year-old widower, lives in a townhouse neighborhood where he once chaired the association until his friend Rune replaced him. Rune, now paralyzed from a stroke, is cared for by his wife, Anita. Since his wife Sonja, a schoolteacher, died from cancer six months ago, Ove has been depressed. Forced into retirement from the railroad company where he worked for 43 years, Ove's routine involves enforcing neighborhood rules and visiting Sonja's grave to talk to her.

Ove fick kanonen som förstapris på NAIS tvåmil på femtiotalet. Styrelsen har beslutat att kanonen skall bli ett vandringspris som varje år utdelas till &#;Årets kanon&#;.

Årets kanon utses av styrelsen efter förslag från medlemmarna och skall ha gjort något särskilt bra under året &#; på tävlingsbanan eller i klubbarbetet.

A Man Called Ove (Swedish: En man som heter Ove, pronounced[ɛnˈmanːsɔmˈhěːtɛrˈǔːvɛ]) is a debut novel by Swedish writer Fredrik Backman published in Swedish by Forum in [1] The novel was published in English in and reached the New York Times Best Seller list 18 months after its publication and stayed on the list for 42 weeks.[2]

It has been adapted into two films: A Man Called Ove, which premiered in Sweden on 25 December , with Rolf Lassgård in the leading role,[3] and A Man Called Otto, released on 30 December , with Tom Hanks in the leading role.[4]
